She must be the only actress who has won so many awards in her career. Farida Jalal, came into the industry with the dreams of making it big as a heroine but found herself typecast in sister roles. But for her, that was a matter of no worry and she believed in the adage, 'whatever happens, happens for the best'. <br><br> Farida Jalal has played the role of sister for actors like Amitabh Bachchan to Vinod Khanna. She even got awarded for that effort of hers. She bagged the Best Supporting award for her films like "Paras" (1972) and "Majboor" (1976). She could play her roles to perfection. Meanwhile, Farida has also done offbeat movies like "Mammo" which fetched her the greatest award of her life. But her memorable role remains the one in "Aradhana" where she got an opportunity to be with Rajesh Khanna, the ultimate heart throb. Even "Abdulla" did her a whole lot of good. <br><br> Before she could exhaust herself with similar roles, she switched to character roles and became one of the greatest mothers' of Hindi cinema. She mothered everyone right from Shahrukh Khan to Amitabh Bachchan. For her effort in "Henna" (1992) and Aditya Chopra's "Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jaayenge", she won the best supporting award in 1995. She has taken to motherly roles as fish takes to water. But she also has her hands in some of the major TV serials and has a unique show on the telly where even the worst of singers can try singing.
