Irrfan Khan
Irfaan Khan is a an actor with an immense amount of untapped potential. But lately his luck has changed and he has begun receiving the adulation he deserves. The actor who is originally from Jaipur has a NSD background. The grounding is only obvious in his work. Irfan Khan first came to Mumbai to do a workshop for Mira Nair's 'Salaam Mumbai' in which he made his debut. After which, director Govind Nihlani saw him on TV in a play and called him up and soon he did 'Jazeere', 'Pitah' and 'Dhrishti' with Nihalani simultaneously did parallel films with Shyam Benegal. Irfan also did a couple of serial such as 'Banegi Apni Baat', 'Chandrakanta' to name a few. These serials got him a certain amount of recognition in the industry. Though Irfaan has been in the industry since the 80's he has received recignition after he did films like 'Haasil', 'Charas', and 'Maqbool' to name a few. According to the actor himself, 'Haasil' gave him proper birth. His previous films like 'Gunaah'were appreciated but not enough to give a platform. His film 'The Warrior' was extremely appreciated overseas and it did the PR Irfaan needed. And since then major banners have signed him for several films.
