Neena Gupta
She is a self-made woman. She did not allow other people to decide things for her and led a very bohemian life-style. She was someone you could not take home to your mom. But over the years she has transformed herself and become much more matured person than what she was years ago. Now she is someone every woman identifies herself with.
Neena Gupta has finally arrived. Never mind if it took her 18 years to reach where she wanted to. She had the courage to dream and all her dreams have come true now. She no longer projects the rich-bitch image she was so 'famous' for. There is a woman of substance beneath her impassive exterior. She made her debut with the serial 'Khaandan' where she played the dashing Ketaki. This product of National School of Drama took a long time to develop herself as an actress. But after 40-odd serials she has finally arrived. She is recognised for what she is.
In 1993 Neena Gupta took a plunge into production. So far she has came upon with serials like 'Dard', 'Saans' and 'Palchhin'. She also acts in a serial called 'Neeyat'. She might not be the prettiest one around but her switch from big screen to small screen has been tremendously appreciated. Her short film 'Bazaar Sitaram' won a National Award in 1994.
There is a hurt feeling of woman shown in every serial of hers which make them so special. Those who considered her to be a bad influence on the society have now accepted her and have stopped pinching her.
